I bought some nice little brioche rolls for this sweet little treat. I don't particularly like marmalade, so I made mine with some apricot jam that I had in the fridge. Topped with toasted hazelnuts and enjoyed with a cup of tea!
Didn't plan this to look like a heart... have a Happy Valentine's Day! |
Awww - you made a tartine heart :-)
ReplyDeleteGood idea for Tues. morning :)
DeleteYou didn't plan it but it sure looks pretty! I also used an apricot spread and loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I couldn't comment on your blog for some reason? I haven't had or thought about saltines in years, probably because I can't get them where I live. Bet the saltiness of the crackers was good with the chocolate.
DeleteI first pulled out the apricot spread and then went for raspberry which was also really great. Just needed something red at this time of year. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteI think raspberry or apricot sounds perfect for this. Yum.
ReplyDeleteI bet raspberry would be good too.
DeleteSeems like several people used apricot jam. I think that was a good choice. Your tartine looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteLove the tartine heart!
ReplyDeleteMy first reaction when I saw your photo was "awww how appropriate for this time of year....a heart!". I love the mild tartness of apricot jam too though the pairing of chocolate and orange is classic. Glad your kids love their afternoon snack.
ReplyDeleteOrange & chocolate is a great combo. Kids loved it and are eating it again today. Always nice to find a new snack :)
DeleteIf the other kids find out that this is what's being served as a snack at your house, watch out for the deluge!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! What a great idea to use for V-Day. Bet this kids loved this when they got home from school!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with an accidental heart, assuming you have leftovers for Valentine's Day.
